1/13/2017 1 Comment Final GradesBesides today, we only have two more class periods before the end of the semester. Next Tuesday and Wednesday are the last two period 7's for Semester one. For semester two, you will probably have a different period 7 class (I still need to confirm that with Ms. Rubio, but that's what she mentioned last time we chatted).
You have free choice today on the approved websites as long as you are sure all of your work is done otherwise. I will be working on your final grades, so please make sure it remains quiet in here so I can focus :-)

If you have FOUR blog posts, and all four of them are posted on your HOMEPAGE (yesterday's assignment) you have FREE CHOICE today within the Approved Web Sites Page.
If you don't have FOUR blog posts, I would like to notify you that my Grades for Semester One are due at the end of next week. I will send home final progress reports at the end of next week. I have not inputed any grades for about a month and half, but I will be catching up in the next three days. Please realize there will be no chance for you to re-submit any more work after I grade everything you have done on your new website. So, it needs to be good. Go back through my assignments blog and make sure you completed all of the assignments for the social justice webpage!!! 1/10/2017 0 Comments January 10th, 2017Good Afternoon. This rainy weather is good for California but it really saps my energy! We are going to spend some time today fixing the homepages of your websites so that visitors to your site can easily navigate to the blog posts you have written. I will be sharing my screen to show you how to easily add these links. Please log into your weebly editor while everyone gets settled. 1/6/2017 0 Comments January 06th, 2017Yesterday you spent some time studying what copyright safe FAIR USE of someone else's work looks like in video. Today I want you to read a blog post I wrote a few years ago about the Dodgers that used other people's words and opinions and cited my sources so I wasn't plagiarizing. This blog post is located on the Forum (like yesterday). Once you have read it, and noticed HOW I cited my sources (by linking to the articles I read), I would like you to find some news today and write a blog post that also uses quotes and cites your sources with links and references (really study the way I discussed different points of view ["so-and-so of the LATimes thinks that...., but so-and-so at the NYTimes thinks that..."]).
1/4/2017 0 Comments January 04th, 2017Today's lesson is located on the FORUM page in the menu bar. Please navigate to the "Forum" and begin a careful reading. You will need headphones as there are video's you will be watching today.

Today I would like you to open Microsoft Word and create a visual mini-poster that declares to the world what your new-years resolution is. What is a new year's resolution? According to Wikipedia, A New Year's resolution is a tradition in which a person resolves (decides and declares) to change an undesired trait or behavior about themselves. Some popular New Year's Resolutions are: I had my 6th Graders in period 5 complete a similar assignment, but I would like your's to be more visual and fun looking since you have the whole period and they only had about 15 minutes. Take a look at the bulletin board near the window for examples.
